Psalm45_9

Hello everyone, I need as many biblical citations as possible about the intercession of Saints. I already know about the two in the Book of Revelation, Psalms 103 and 148, and the Guardian Angel passage. Does anyone know anymore?

Rom 15:30- join me by your prayers to God on my behalf
Col 4:3;1Thess 5:25- pray for us
2Th 1:11-we always pray for you
2th 3:1- finally brothers, pray for us
Eph 6:18-19- making suplication for all the saints and for me
Tob 12:12- angel presents Tobit and Sarah’s prayer to God
Heb 12:1- we are surrounded by a cloud of witnesses
Lk 16:19-30- departd rich man intercedes for brothers

I hope that some of these help!

I once heard a lady speak at an AA meeting, and the occasion was her 18th anniversary of continuous sobriety. She told how she had first come into the fellowship shortly after moving to Boston, and with her gin-soaked brain, she thought she heard the people saying that they all had faith in Hyapowah. She concluded that these people were praying to a Native American princess named Hyapowah, and were obviously more than a little cracked. She had been raised in a Christian home, she reasoned, so if she was going to start praying again she was going to do it right or not at all. But after one more devastating bender she was finally desperate to stop drinking, and that desire overrode all of her theological misgivings. So she started praying to Hyapowah, and her compulsion to drink promptly vanished and had never returned. Three weeks or so later her head had cleared up enough to realize that they were saying “Higher Power.”

Not Biblical, but it’s the best I can do:)

Another biblical passage concerning the intercession of saints, which can supplement the passages in Revelation :

**“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” **

**James 5:16 **

Who are those referred to as being perfectly righteous?

Who are those whose prayers are efficacious?

By considering that the passage starts with a reference to a righteous man [not an angel], and relating it to the passages in Revelation concerning the saints in Heaven, we can be certain these are the glorious saints praying for us.

In Acts 8:24, Simon, who formerly practiced magic, asked St. Peter, “Pray for me to the Lord, that nothing of what you have said may come upon me.”

Also, the following verses, found in a Catholic Bible, might help:

In 2 Maccabees 15:12-14, dead Onias and dead Jeremiah are descibed as fervently praying for the whole Jewish community.

In Sirach 48:12-16, probably referring to the events of 2 Kings 13:21, Elisha is described as having performed marvelous deeds after his death.

In Daniel 3:86, from King Nebuchadnezzar’s fiery furnace, the three young men sang: “Spirits and souls of the just, bless the Lord; praise and exalt him above all forever.”
