I think that perhaps it might be possible that some people left the Church because of the NO in the early days after Vatican II but the real reason for some leaving now is because of the abuses of the NO.

I love the NO and converted to the Church in an NO parish under a wonderful priest who celebrated Mass reverently and did not add his own personal preferences when saying Mass.

After he left the parish priests came in and decided to do things their way, not the Church’s. And if anyone dared to say anything about the abuses it was made clear to them that they were not welcome there. So those faithful to the teachings and liturgy of the Church left and the parish is now a “progressive” parish run by modernist lay people and the loyal Catholic is made to feel uncomfortable at best and at worst they are told they are unloving and hateful.
