I don’t know if any of you have ever heard of Bill Keller a Evangelical Fundamentalist from Tampa, who has his own Live TV show in the middle of the night down there and has a huge Daily Devotional called Live Prayer that is sent out Via e-mail to close to 300,000 everyday of the year. He had some nice things to say about Catholicism, however he still does have some disagreements with Doctrine in some ways. But in no way is he bashing the Church and criticizes Protestants who do. Most Protestants admire John Paul II and his legacy.

It is fine to post your opinion - that is what these boards are for. 🙂 But be assured you can expect a reply. 😃

I am only replying becaue your post made Catholics sound oh so judgmental. While we believe it is wrong to deny the Catholic faith, we also believe that all things are possible with God. We don’t automatically judge someone to hell as soon as they step out of line… :nope:

Hope that makes sense - or if I did not read your post correctly, please advise. 🙂

The rest was cut/paste from that link at the end.

It’s not mine. I just found some of this guys words complimentary in a world where there seems to be a lot of division and “them-and-us-ism”.

Most Catholics I know, don’t assume non-Catholics are automatically relegated to eternal damnation. That judgement is reserved for God alone to decide.

Actually most Catholics are more inclined to think that other Christians are more than likely to go to Heaven, especially if they have lived the Christian life as described
in the Bible.

Normally, I would make a big exception for hard core extreme fundalmentalists here. But even they, as annoying as they can sometimes be, may very likely end up in Heaven.
 
James White has determined we are all destined for hell. So let it be written, so let it be done!!!
 
I have not memorized the bible, but there is a verse telling us that we would/will be surprised by who is /will be in heaven, and at who is not/will not be in heaven. In other words, do not even make a guess, we don’t know. We must live according to His word, do the best we can and then we will all have marvelous surprises. The Lord also says that no man knows what He has prepared for us. So those who like to tell us what happens when we pass are guessing, or proclaiming to have “inside” information, playing God. Not a safe thing.Love and Peace

I don’t think this was a very kind meditation. Sure, he said some nice things, most Protestants would say the same. But I think that if you know you have a huge number of Catholic readers, you don’t say anti-Catholic things. If you know you are speaking to all sorts of Christians, you be careful not to let your own views in too much.

Fundamentalists have plenty of faults, but a failure to speak their mind is not one of them. Those who think that Catholicism is truly evil believe that they are obligated to say so out of love for Catholics. Why are you hunting for reasons not to take this guy’s kind words at face value? That’s not very charitable.
