Most people know of my long-time ups and downs while working my way to completing conversion (if you don’t, research my previous posts. I used to be on here frequently).
Anyway, considering I am a full-time paramedic with three jobs and going to school full-time, there is little time to go through a structured RCIA program. Well I have been going to Mass again consistently which has been a true grace that I let go for too long. I am tired of sitting in the pew and not receiving the Eucharist when I know it truly is our Lord. I am tired of not having the available sacraments. I am tired of not being in full communion with the Church and God. So I contacted the RCIA director at the parish I attend and told him my situation. I told him my story and we have had wonderful intellectual discussions. He spoke with his higher up and the parish priest about doing this on a quicker, more concise schedule. After all, RCIA is not required for baptized Christians. After some discussion . . .
It has been approved. It will consist of a few meetings and discussions, some reading on my part and other little things. Won’t take long according to them. In no time at all, I can finally call my self a Catholic.
I will keep you all posted on the upcoming meetings and events. Friday is the first meeting.
Glad I can share this with y’all.
