Also, if her only reason to avoid RCIA (informationally) is because she can learn on her own, you have to MAKE SURE she does.

To me, that sounds nice, but will she really read the books, the Catechism, whatever, you giver her? Will she do her own homework?

If she isn’t that motivated about the Catholic Church, this desire to learn WILL fade. Even her feelings for you will not sustain this.

RCIA doesn’t sound like too much to ask for an interfaith couple.
I’m trying to monitor this, and I agree, if she doesn’t have the drive to learn on her own, then she will never continue to read, etc.

Actually Save Me. I was thinking how I was a bit to harsh. Partially because if I had a choice between a devout Protestant believer and a nominal Catholic, I’d take the devout Protestant.

This being said, if the two of your are going to make an interfaith marriage work, I could be wrong, but I think that it would be a good idea for the two of you to both attend services together. So you don’t like everything about the Protestant church. Perhaps though she doesn’t like everything about the mass. However, if your going to have kids. It would be good for them to see you guys worshiping together. It would make things less confusing for them. (I’d think)

I just think its good when families worship together. That’s just my opinion I’m not an expert or anything. But I just think that anything you can do to unite your family well you should do. (Except for either one of you converting just to convert.)

Oh, we’ve come across this already, and she is on ABC but for regulating reasons (without getting too graphic). We are also remaining chaste until marriage, and that is a promise we both made to eachother.
I think it is wonderful that you have made the promise to each other to remain chaste until marriage! But it also sounds like from this post that she plans to continue to use contraceptives even if she were married. That is a very serious problem indeed.
