We should get some good internet trends going to combat the culture of death. Here are some quick ideas. Give me some of your own!
  • God is Love
  • Catholics don’t compromise
  • Not my body, God’s property
  • Pride is destruction
  • Committed until death
  • Heresy has no authority
  • Hell is for real too
I’m going to try to scatter the most effective ones online

I’m not sure that little bumper sticker slogans do much good to convince the other side. If it were that easy, I’d never preach for more than two sentences at each Mass. These might serve to stir up our side or make us feel like we’re doing something good, but I doubt their effectiveness as a method of “combatting the culture of death.” If it were that simple, just blanket the internet with slogans and we’re done, we’d have won the battle a long time ago.

Yeah. Well, I’ve seen a lot of people with the bandwagon mindset for sin so I’m confident if people knew there were far more role model Catholics out there than popular media suggests it would inspire at least some to change their ways. Plus I’m not sure how else to try to effectively reach a group of people who have even a 10 second attention span. I don’t give up that easily when it comes to helping souls become saved. I think Catholics can do a better job of trying to reach those who don’t seek truth due to popular lies. It is our duty to try after all. I’m just making suggestions; if anyone has a better idea, I’ve actually stood on the corner with a sign so I’m open to anything.

I answer questions on Quora. (People get points for asking questions that get a lot of answers, so there’s an incentive to ask them.)
I answer questions from a Christian or at least healthy viewpoint, and people seem to appreciate that. There are always the “I don’t believe in your flying spaghetti monster” folks, but they can be ignored.

That’s cool. I put my name in to teach Catechism for the first time! One thing I would like to see change (at least from when I was a student) is that we really approach students with the goal of fostering and strengthening their faith and focus on how God is still working in the modern world instead of assuming they already have a great foundation in faith. (Side note: I find it interesting that I’m very reserved, even shy in my everyday life and when I look back at everything I attempt to do for God, it’s like I suddenly have all this fire! Certainty Jesus wants to bring out the best in us.)

I think that slogan-shring is more about brandishing one’s identity than convincing others. But if I had to put a bumper sticker on my car, it would simply read: I ❤️ Pope Francis.

With all due respect, I don’t think this is a good idea, at least not with the slogans you’ve suggested above. As a young person who spends most of her time on the Internet, part of the reason that so many other young people are moving away from Christianity is because they’ve been hurt or mistreated by people who claim to be religious (for example, gay teens whose parents have disowned them for their sexual orientation, teen girls who have been taught that their only goal in life should be to get a husband, etc.) Plastering slogans around that say “Hell is for real too” or “Pride is destruction”, while both true, aren’t going to change anyone’s mind, and may actually turn people even more against you.

Thanks for the feedback. I completely get that. I have a hard time using more, shall we say fluffy language though. I think the core of this issue is that people have a fundamental misunderstanding of what love is. We tend to be raised thinking it’s always happy and fulfilling in this life when Jesus doesn’t hesitate telling us we are going to need to suffer in this life very much for love. I’d rather lay out the hard truth and then walk with those who listen rather than tell everyone what they want to hear. It changed my perspective when I learned Jesus did not come to unite us, but as a sword to divide. (Matthew 10:34)

teen girls who have been taught that their only goal in life should be to get a husband,
We call it “discerning your vocation,” and it’s the number one most important thing a teenager must begin to consider.

Discerning your vocation does not mean that getting married is the “only goal” you have in life.

Ah, I was more referring to teen girls that come from horribly sexist homes, where they are taught that they are worthless unless they find a husband. There’s nothing wrong with marriage, of course, and motherhood is a beautiful thing, but it’s not for everyone, and no girl should have to feel like her life only matters if she becomes a wife.

This is very true. I’ve seen a lot of things from Christians online that, if they were the only exposure I’d had to Christianity, would make me want to reject religion as well.

One of the things that has always kept me grounded is fear of God and likewise losing Him. I think it would be unloving to not reiterate why people should be afraid of Him or their blood appears to be on our hands according to Ezekiel 3 18

Yes, but we are also to be wise as serpents, which means it’s not good enough to merely say the words - we need to be tactful in the way that we present the gospel to others. Preaching in a way that we know will be ineffectual is worthless - we have to have a certain level of prudence and sensitivity to really change hearts.

Good thing that Christ told us very clearly how we are to reach people:

Love. By this shall all men know you are my disciples that you love one another (don’t see a lot of that online these days)

Good works. Llet your light so shine before men that they see your good works and glorify your father in heaven.

The works of Mercy, read the beatitudes over and over again this is how we reach people for Christ. Not my how well we debate not by how much we point out their sins, bye love and light and salt.
