Does anyone happen to know of a good internet filter that would block imodest adds and pops ups along with the basics??? :ehh:

Thank you, God bless you and Merry Christmas!!!

Sincerely your friend in Christ and Our Lady,

Cynthia

I use NET NANNY.

You can set the filtering to any strenght you want. Good on pop ups, but not perfect.

You can choose which sites to allow/dis-allow. Also the type of language.

If memory serves, I paid around $27.00 for the internet download of the program. Worth the money. 11 year old son hate it, he can’t get into his wrestling sites now. 👍

I’ve been using a Linux browser called Mozilla, availalbe free at the Mozilla web site, in two ‘flavors’–the Mozilla application itself which includes email and whatnot, and a browser-only version called Firefox. Terrific security with a minimum of fuss and configuration. No popups. Bury your Internet Explorer in a quiet corner where it can’t harm anyone.

For an added measure of security against intrusions, spyware, and so forth, I use Zonealarm. It’s a little pricey at $49.95, but well worth it IMHO.😉

Get Firefox (or Mozilla) and ZoneAlarm Pro. You should also install Ad Aware. They will do what you want and a lot more. If you download the free ZoneAlarm, you get a 15 day free trial of ZoneAlarm Pro. ZoneAlarm is vastly superior to Windoze XP’s built-in firewall (and easier to use).

Personally, I won’t work on anyone’s computer anymore unless they promise to switch from Internet Explorer to Firefox or Mozilla and install AdAware.

Norton Internet Security is good. You can customize the settings to meet your approval, and it is an all-in-one service (spam-blocking, pop-up blocking, ad blocking, content filtering, hacker/trojan-blocking, etc.
