When searching for things on the internet, I like to capitalize names and words that should be capitalized, but the Autocomplete of searches (which can be useful on a small screen) often decapitalizes what I’ve written. Am I the only one who will sometimes finish typing the whole thing out to keep the capitalization or use the autocomplete, but be “miffed” at the recapitalization?

These programs go for spelling issues, not grammar. It’s just letters to the software.

The searches completions are based on aggregate searches. it simply means that most people are capitalizing while searching. I fail to see how that really matters…you’re going to get the right results no matter how you capitalize.

I can see why you’re annoyed…

It annoys me too, as I try and use proper grammar and spelling. It helps me to keep up with that type of usage. I can be sloppy about it, otherwise. 😉

Sometimes I just have to laugh at those rediculous goblins that quickly shuffle my words around trying to make me look the fool 🙂 Especially on my phone .I don’t always look behind where I’ve been.

We older folk who worked in office jobs for years and years back in the twentieth century, long before computers and the internet, used to communicate by telex, which didn’t have upper and lower case. Now that we have to start dealing with that all over again, it can be a pain. The old way was more user-friendly.
