Hi,
I had a very deep conversation with a friend who is a seminarian. We were talking about prayer, and I sort of went into a long winded monologue about how and why I pray, and he gave me an insight which I need to really ponder on. He said something along the lines of prayer being about intimacy with God. When he said that, I sort of recognized how my prayer has been very “utilitarian”. I guess I have had issues with friendship and intimacy which carry over into my relationship with God.

But I wanted to ask here about your thoughts on intimacy with God. How to cultivate intimacy with God, develop a close friendship with Him. I would love to hear all of your thoughts and maybe advice on how I can be more intimate with God. Also, any books or writings of saints or theologians or spiritual writers, anything that can help me with this. And as always, please pray for me and for all people seeking intimacy with God. And also prayers for those who do not seek intimacy with God, for them to experience a conversion in which they deeply desire to be intimate with God.

Thank you for any advice, suggestions, and of course, prayers.
God bless you all. Amen.

Journal. Write what you feel, what you want God to hear. then write what you feel He is saying to you.

If you’re able spend alot of time in silence, before Mass and after, in church and outside of church.

God speaks and wants us to listen.

I will keep you in prayer.

For me it involves going inward and realizing that what ever I encounter ther, thoughts images, it all is in the presence of God. My deepest self is naked before God.
