Intrusive thoughts while praying

I thought this was just me until I saw this post! Then after I’m like no I don’t mean that I’m sorry God I love you and sometimes I get thoughts like what if God isn’t real and I’m like I know God is real.

Does this happen to anyone else? When I was younger it was a LOT worse but now its quite manageable and doesn’t happen a lot.

I agree with @(name removed by moderator).

I think the most important part of it is realizing that these thoughts do not come from you, and that they do not matter. Personally, I have had intrusive thoughts for years, and my advice is to be aware that you have no blame or fault for having them. And do not accuse yourself whenever you do have them.

If you struggle or have a hard time with this, I´d suggest speaking to your priest. He probably has some good advice and guidance for you.
