Invitation or command?

Hi all, my question regards vocational discernment. Is God’s calling an invitation or a command? Are you being disobedient/sinful if you fail to follow your God-given vocation? Thank you all!

Romans 14:23
“and everything that does not come from faith is sin”

If you feel God calling you, He has your best interest in mind and like our Mother, we should surrender to His Will no matter what. If what you feel He wants you to do does not conflict with morals or put others in danger, I’d say go for it! Also:
