Anyone see these? With Donnie Yen in the title role?

I blind-bought a ‘package’ of the first 3 movies on VUDU several months ago. They were having a sale. Finally got around to watching the first two this week, and wow, some fantastic martial arts action in these, some of the best I’ve seen.

I think the second film is weaker; it’s basically a retread of Rocky IV but with Chinese and British instead of Americans and Russians.

Hopefully will get around to number 3 this weekend.

Being a huge Rocky fan, I, too, quickly became a huge IP Man fan!

I even enjoy pondering how to incorporate Wing Chun principles of simplicity, directness, practicality, economy of movement and limited use of brute force into presentation of Apologetics.

I saw one or two of the Ip Man films with Donny Yen. They were good. The Grandmaster, from 2013, was also very good, beautifully filmed, with Tony Leung as Ip Man.

I watched Ip Man 3 on Saturday evening; IMHO easily the weakest of the first three. Didn’t really seem to have a unified plot, just a series of setups for Ip Man to fight. Most disappointing was the fight between Ip Man and Mike Tyson’s character;
they fight, and then Tyson disappears for the last half hour or so.
