Religion and the state is a terible mixture,ask any christian in an islamic country. Ask Protestants and Catholics in Russia.Where the Orthodox chuch is working to be the state religion.

That’s very true, all we have to do is look through history to find even more evidence, either way this story is very sad, itss not right that a person can be executed in God’s name, even if they were sinning, it’s kind of like playing God.

This is why you will not find democracies within an Islamic state/government because religion is almost indistiguishable from their form of government. My concern is that in the future when Islam becomes a majority in France or say Italy what will the legal effects be in future legislative actions regarding the existing democratic conditions in those countries. Will they start to look more like an Islamic states in that those elected to position of authority? Muslim Judges, Parliamentarians or local majestrates will not be able to remain as democratic as their predecessors. This would be the logical end point. Common sense dictates that Islam will weave its way into existing freedoms and laws, not if, but when they become the majority vote in western Europe.
