Irrefutable Proof against being born gay?

To some degree you are right N2 as far as no matter what acting on homosexual attractions in any sexual way etc is morally sinful and our treatment of those struggling with same sex attraction must be loving, prayerful and supportive to help them live their Catholic faith.
However, knowledge of the origins for the individual who has SSA is key to healing and wholeness. If one has the psychological disorder of being a kleptomaniac for example, we would not just sternly point to them, give them a speech about the sinfulness of stealing and send them on their way would we? It’s time SSA was viewed properly as the disorder it is. Finding out the “why” it developed is a huge step in lessening the power of the attractions over one’s psyche.

I agree, Carla, it’s important to know the “root” cause in order to treat the source of pain if we want to work on healing the wound. If the root cause is a deep rooted need for mother/father love, same sex connection and friendship, and deep woundedness by the same, then from this knowledge we can turn to the true Source of the love we need and fill up on God’s love, asking God to come into each area of woundedness and heal us, working on making healthy friendships and seeking Christian counseling, thus, diminishing the drive toward same sex union to fill the void, which in itself only makes the hole deeper…

Caring for the whole individual.
