Is a celibate "life partnership" acceptable?

Dear AAA,

I was talking to a Catholic friend online who struggles with SSA. She has become very attached to another individual in much the same situation–Christian, and not openly homosexual. She claims that they are in love, but not sexually attracted to each other. My friend asked me if I thought it would be sinful if they lived together, as long as they did not engage in sensual relationship. I didn’t know how to answer her, and I thought maybe you could help me help her.
