So yesterday i was hanging out with my friends and we were all bored so we started to play fight. While we were just play fighting i got a scratch around my chin which was fairly visible. The next day, my mom noticed and asked what happened. I didnt want to say i was play fighting because she’ll think im weird or become overly concerned so i just said “i dont know”. Is this a sin? Is it something i need to go to confession for and is it something grave/mortal considering how harmless and compulsive the event was?

Not one that is likely to jeopardize you eternal salvation…pray, go to mass, read scripture, and level with mom, and try not to make similar mistakes…if it really bothers your conscience, take it to confession.

Yes, it was a lie. You knew how you got scratched and you said you didn’t know. That was a lie.

Given your posting history, it seems you struggle with scrupulosity. You should stop asking these questions here and get offline help from a priest and a mental health professional.

Others would be well advised to stop responding. It does not help. Check posting histories.
