Is accepting abortion tainted vaccines Vatican II-ish?

I don’t know a priest that I trust enough to talk to about this.

There are vaccines developed from aborted fetal tissue (cell lines) and the Vatican made it clear that developing these was wrong, but it’s okay for parents to use them.

This really bothers me. I posted under Moral Theology, but didn’t get much. I’ve read all the documents, I understand the stance. It seems to me that this is a failure on the part of the Church to really take a pro-life stance. I am not getting adequate sleep because of this…how do you traditionalist reconcile this stance?

You don’t know a priest that you trust enough to talk to about this, yet you will post it on a public message board where only God knows who is posting and their credentials for correctly answering your question, and even if they are legitimate, and even if they are a traditionalist and truly knowledgeable about the subject or just spouting off their opinion.

I don’t think if you find the exact citation it will say this precisely, and in any case has nothing whatever to do with VII which did not address the issue to my knowledge. The morality forum is a more helpful place for your discussion and there are several past threads on the topic which may give you a more complete answer. It has also been answered on Ask an Apologist and a search there on the key word vaccine or vaccines will bring up a reference thread.
