Is anyone else worried about having the mark of the beast

Vico, I think those who would rather die than take the mark is the message here. The answer given gives the impression that everyone receives the mark. Then God forgives them for it. But not everyone does.according to this passage.

I also saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their testimony to Jesus[a] and for the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands.

At least in the commentary linked “those who choose to worship the beast do not have their names in the Book of Life. However, this is quite distinct from the forced mark of the beast.”
 
You know, I could see both as true, in one sense everyone is forced and God forgives people who ask with contrite hearts and active faith. Also have those who build the faith with their blood. The text describe their death’s as beheaded for their testimonies. John the Baptist is beheaded St Paul is beheaded. A sign of leadership. heads separated from their bodies. Bishops separated from their diocese. Imagine their sanctity in the experience of opposing evil as it reaches it’s final end…

Certainly were many martryrs and the separation of head and body can represent the loss of the ruler ship of reason (virtue) over the actions of the body.

In Revelation 20 are mentioned those without the mark or adoration of the beast.
4 And I saw seats; and they sat upon them; and judgment was given unto them; and the souls of them that were beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God, and who had not adored the beast nor his image, nor received his character on their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 The rest of the dead lived not, till the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection. In these the second death hath no power; but they shall be priests of God and of Christ; and shall reign with him a thousand years.

That is it. Try reading the Revelation in light of the liturgy and Christ’s ultimate triumph instead of reading it as a prophecy which we have to be wary of.
