Our Diocese is putting together a Framework for the New Evangelisation and has started calling for lay people to serve in teams (most teams will be led by a Priest). There are lots of teams and they have started by recruiting for 8 of the teams. They have asked for applications with a CV (one side of A4).

I feel more strongly drawn to the Social Policy Unit team and the Justice, Peace and Social Responsibility teams and slightly less to the Margin and inactive Roman Catholics Team. The attraction is that they appear to be weighted toward research and analysis which are things I quite enjoy. The other teams recruiting are the Court of Gentiles, Christian Unity, inter-religious dialogue, ethnic chaplaincies and marriage and family life and I strongly sense that I am wrong for these. When I look at the titles of the other teams, nothing stirs within.

My question is, has anyone served on a similar team and if so, how much time commitment would be needed? What kind of things did you do? It would also be helpful to know what one puts on a CV for this type of thing. My draft CV has contact details, educational qualifications, faith background, my work skill strengths and an admission of less developed oral skills and hobbies. Is this Okay?

As I work full time, I do not want to commit (assuming they will have me), if I can’t deliver, so any help would be appreciated.

Thank you
