Is artificial birth control for medical reasons okay or not?

I was raised Catholic but never confirmed after my mother left the church. I would like to return, but I have been hesitant. I agree with church teachings but I use birth control to regulate a very painful condition. My husband and do not and can not have children due this, and I am at peace with that. Will this cause a conflict? I am not interested in shopping around for another church. Thank you.
