If you study what BLM are after, it becomes crystal clear they are demanding better governance at the local level, by local politicians. From the below article I only found one demand were the Federal Govt should play a leadership role, on reporting standards.

The problems are very real, but it seems the solutions require more accountability and leadership by local politicians.

Black Lives Matters activists outline policy goals

The plans calls for:
  • Ending “broken windows” policing, which aggressively polices minor crimes in an attempt to stop larger ones
  • Code:
using community oversight for misconduct rather than having police decide what consequences officers face
  • Code:
making standards for reporting police use of deadly force
  • Code:
independently investigating and prosecuting police misconduct
  • Code:
having the racial makeup of police departments reflect the communities they serve
  • Code:
requiring officers to wear body cameras
  • Code:
providing more training for police officers
  • Code:
    ending for-profit policing practices
  • Code:
ending the police use of military equipment
  • Code:
implementing police union contracts that hold officers accountable for misconduct

I’m sorry, Theo, your facts are completely wrong. Black Lives Matter wants better governance? Consider the following few examples:

–BLM protesters in Minneapolis marched down the street chanting “pigs in a blanket, fry 'em like bacon!,” the reference to “pigs in a blanket” being a reference to how we need police in body bags.

–If you look at BLM’s twitter feed, you will see photos of activists wearing shirts that say “Assata taught me.” Assata is infamous cop killer Assata Shakur AKA Joanne Chesimard, who murdered a New Jersey State Policeman in 1973; was convicted in 1977; escaped and fled to Cuba where she remains to this day, while being on the FBI’s most wanted list. BLM glorifies her as a hero. She is an unrepentant cop killer.

–BLM protesters in Broward County Florida staged a protest where they held signs saying “F**K your heritage!” and mimicked wiping their butts on confederate flags and waved what were described as “anarcho-communist black and red flags.”

–They publicly proclaim to want to interrupt other political rallies; BLM members pushed Bernie Sanders off the stage at a Seattle political event at which he had been invited to speak. Earlier in Phoenix, they took over the stage at a political event and disrupted an interview with Sanders and Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley (because nothing says ‘good governance’ like interrupting the very politicians who generally side with you, and drowning out their speeches!).

Considering that your own signature line is that facts matter, please consider the foregoing facts before pronouncing it as “crystal clear” that these people are for “better governance.”

The problem that I have with the Black Lives Matter movement is that they seemingly believe that only black lives matter and no other lives do. All lives matter and that is not based on whether they are civilian, police, white, black or other. They also paint all police officers in a really negative light even though they expect the police to respond at light speed anytime they want or need help. If all police were as evil as they are depicted, they should be the last people you call not the first. There are countries around the world where the police are that bad, and no one calls them for help or wants them involved in any situation. We should be thankful it isn’t like that here. Yes, some are bad, but most are not. The majority put their lives on the line every single day for very little pay and absolutely no respect because they do believe that ALL lives matter.

St. Michael the Archangel,
Defend us in battle. Be our protector against the wicked snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray, and do thou O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into Hell Satan and all the evil forced that prowl the earth seeking the ruin of souls.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, pray for us.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, pray for us.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, pray for us.
Amen

St. Michael, patron of police officers, pray for and protect our police.

I agree many of their protesters are worse the football (soccer) hooligans.

I was trying to understand what their officially stated objectives were, which is when I discovered their real problem was primarily with local democratic politicians that manage their cities, their police force, etc. They are more discombobulated than the previous Occupy Wall Street protestors
