I’ve heard multiple times from Catholics that the Hegelian philosophy is, word for word “utter trash”, yet not a single one was capable of explaining why.

I personally am not someone who is well versed in philosophy nor theology.

Im not entirely sure if this is an accurate representation of Hegelian philosophy but as far as I have interpreted it, it consists in the belief that All that exists is Rational, the belief that we only observe the world from a shadow of what it actually is and everything is made from the same metaphysical essence, that this essense has intrinsic properties about them and these properties can be discovered and understood to their full degree.

Can somebody tell me why this idea is incompatible with Catholicism and if or why my presentation of Hegelianism is wrong?

Hegel(?) Philosophy
The Catholic problem with Hegel is that he seems to reduce the transcendent to the immanent. You could argue that Hegel is simply reiterating traditional Christian beliefs. For example, take the Incarnation. Man and God became united in the Incarnation. So too the Absolute Spirit becomes Man during the course of history. Yet Hegel’s appropriation of the Incarnation seems a bit problematic. When God becomes man, He seems to be completely absorbed into the human. Any hint of transcendence dr…
Apparently you guys have done this one before
