At one of our city’s retreat houses run by the Sisters of Providence there are many different courses available such as Riki (sp?), yoga, grapho-analysis…well, you get the picture…not exactly Catholic.
One of the courses is “Centering Prayer” and many people feel that this is not quite a “Catholic” thing to do. We know that the “method” is being taught by a priest, Fr. Thomas Keating but we do not know much about him.
Would you please let us know if this “centering prayer” is indeed acceptable as so many people in our parish seem to think or should Catholics stay away from it?
Thank you
