Is Christening the same as Baptism?

Hello,

I was raised mainly in the Methodist church. I was Christened as an infant then went through Confirmation at 12. My husband and I are now going into the RCIA classes and I was wondering if Christening is the same as Baptism? To a Methodist it seems to be one in the same but I was wondering as to how the Catholic church would view it, if they would consider me Baptised or would they suggest I get Baptised in the Catholic Faith upon becoming a member?
