Is Consecration to Mary still an Option in this age?

I sometimes wonder, in the world with growing evils and also the Church under severe attacks, should devotions to Mary not be treated as almost necessary? I mean, I know it cannot be imposed and all. But maybe a little more emphasis could be made on the necessity of individuals, families and even nations to be better fortified against evil.
one e.g comes to mind is the total Consecration to Mary by St Louis Marie de Montfort (Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.) .

The increase in drug abuse, immorality, occultism, violence etc in my area for example…really scary

Yup! Many parishes do this program, especially leading up to December 8. This is a common day for total consecration to Mary.

Ok. I guess I could talk with/to a priest about it. Hope the Lord guides me to (If it is His will).

There are quite a few people who do this at my parish. On December 8 and again on Jan 1 there were large groups of folks who stayed after mass to do their consecration. Granted, my parish is on the traditional side.

Certainly talk to your priest about it.

I don’t go along with the notion that the world is worse than ever , @Asonglaw .

You will find evidence that every century says much the same things about itself .

Look at the first half of the last century - - - - - - - -The Great War , followed by the First World War .

The Consecration to Jesus Though Mary is an option and ought not to be imposed on anyone .

I follow to the best of my ability the spirituality of Marian Consecration , and would encourage others to do so , but never seek to have it imposed . We have enough impositions , rules and regulations as it is , and they lead many to stick to the minimum .

Is that true though?. I mean Christ foretold of a time to come when women would wish they were barren and people would long for their own death noh?

For e.g, maybe parents now are even more concerned with trying to convince their children why voodoo stuff, ouija boards & spells etc should be avoided, to even think of teaching them against crossing their legs and dreaming for luxury.
What one generation tolerates, the next embraces.
