In the Latin tradition spiritual masters have gone through a period of “detachment” whereby they are detached from all the worldly things and are centered around God, becoming their true self, empowered by the Almighty. Is this the same process as Divinization in the Eastern tradition?

Kei, I am leaving comment here, to come back to this. We were learning about eastern divinisation this month. I will find the article and post what it is.

No.
All divinisation involves detachment.
But not all detachment involves divinisation.

Divinization can’t be guaranteed. It is the ultimate goal. Detachment is only useful in order to achieve it. While alive we can nevee know for sure if one or ourselves have been Divinized. The only ones we know about are no longer alive here - the Saints.
That is as far as I understood.
