My wife and I have been married for 9 years and have 5 children, ages 7, 5, 3, and twins at 6 months old. I am active duty Navy and she was before we got married. My wife is an awesome mother and a great person and I do love her, but I don’t think either of us like eachother anymore. Neither one of us has done anything bad to each other and I wouldnt imagine doing anything bad, we are just tired of each other and have exhausted all feeling for each other. I know counseling can help and that later after the kids get older we will have time for each other, but I dont think I want to go down that road and get better with her. I just want to be done with being her husband. I would much rather be her friend and just that.

tgodwin,

We are very sorry to hear of your marital troubles. Please be assured of our prayers for your family.

The following links should assist you in better understanding the Church’s teaching regarding the sacrament of marriage and civil divorce. (The last two links are for locating a Catholic counselor and seeking spiritual direction.) If you have any further questions or concerns that are not answered by these links, please contact Catholic Answers directly.
