I’m on the road to conversion to the Catholic faith and recently was reading another thread about funerals/cremation/etc which brought a question to mind.
I’m a pre-med student and have worked extensively with cadavers, and for a number of years now have decided to donate my own corpse when my passing occurs (after donating viable organs to living recipients of course).
I made this decision (and even filled out the legal paper work) prior to deciding to join the Catholic Church, though I’m now concerned that this may be against canon law.
It is not my intent to “deny the resurrection” or “stump God”, rather my only intent in all of this is to do whatever I can to better the quality of life for my fellow man (both by organ donation and corporeal donation to science).
Would this be considered something virtuous or scandalous by the church?
