Sometimes I’m worried that my faith is only an illusion. I’m afraid that I’ve commited the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, that no matter how hard I believe God has already left me and there is no hope for me. Is it possible to believe in God without help of the Holy Spirit?

No. Faith is a gift given by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit works through the Word proclaimed and through his sacraments to give us faith. It is all in God’s hands. Do not fear. I would recommend reading through Romans 10:8-10.

Faith, hope, and charity are virtues given with sanctifying grace.

The three theological virtues are gifts from God and are otherwise impossible to attain. God loves you and wants you to grow and go to Heaven infinitely more than you want it for yourself. God disdains the thought of you being lost infinitely more than you yourself do. The Holy Spirit will not refuse you.

Peace.
