Is fire the Bible's symbol for Love?

I would at least say fire is a symbol for love in Scripture, but not necessarily say it is the only one.

Further, fire does not only work as a symbol for love. Fire is a symbol of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost (Who, grant it, is God and God is love :p).

But there is also the fire of Gehenna where there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
 
Here’s some New Testament references to “fire” to start things off for you:

  • John 18:18; 21:9
  • Acts 2:3; 7:30
  • 1 Corinthians 3:13
  • 2 Thessalonians 1:7
  • Hebrews 1:7; 10:27
  • James 3:5; 5:3
  • 1 Peter 1:7
  • 2 Peter 3:7
  • Revelation 1:14; 3:18; 4:5; 10:1; 13:13; 19:12; 20:9
 
Depends on the context. Fire that spoke to Moses was Jesus is God is Love. Baptism of the
Holy Spirit and Fire is of Love. When are works are tested as a mix of gold, silver, wood, and
stubble, though we suffer losses, we shall be saved, even as by fire, which is Love yet again.

Now that I think about, the pillar of fire that guided the Israelites to the Promised Land can be
seen as Love too. In the Book of Enoch (doesn’t count as Scripture, I know), Enoch is taken
to Heaven and sees everything as though “tongues of fire,” I find that an interesting thought.

We shouldn’t forget the times when the
prophet(s) (Was it just Jeremiah?) who
were sent to die in the fire, but they did
not, that I find a great symbol of God’s
“Burning Love.”

The Fire of God is VERY often a symbol of love, but let’s keep in mind that it is JUST ‘A’
symbol for love, as we must remember the torments that await the damned, in the realm
where the fire is ever burning, and the smoke rises forever, grinding/gnashing of teeth and
so forth.
 
Fire has many symbols in the Bible.

Love
Holy Spirit
Suffering
Cleansing
Life
Sacrifice

and probably more
 
I believe it is a symbol for love and God.

Our God is a consuming fire.
