Is going to a Protestant church better than not going to church at all?

Hi all! I’ve been trying to get my cousin to go to church. Unfortunately, she’s not Catholic, and she was going to a Protestant church before. After she moved to a new place for a job, she stopped going altogether. So my question is, is it better to go to a Protestant church or not going to church at all? This is something I’d like to know before going further with trying to convince her to go.

Thanks in advance!

I am not knowledgeable about this sort of thing… however… I think that might just depend on what church???

Show the excitement about your new faith when you are around her… but don’t pressure her too much…

I’ll be praying for her…

Even for a Catholic if no Catholic Church is available attending worship with other Christians, but not participating in invalid sacraments, is ok.

I’m actually not sure. Might just be a non-denominational one. I’d have to ask her.

Yea, I try not to pressure her too much. But I try to sneak in a few things in our conversations once in a while.

Thank you for your prayers!

Hmm, I’m not sure which sacraments in which she did or didn’t participate. I think one of the reasons she stopped going is because she couldn’t find a good one to go in her town, which is pretty small.

Many Protestants begin to realize that their faith life and worship community just seems incomplete. But they don’t want to look towards the Catholic Church. They may just be waiting for someone to invite them to “come and see”.

Normally yes. A Protestant church has to be pretty spectacularly bad to be worse than no worship at all. There are some, like the Jim Jones’ Peoples’ Temple, which you would want to discourage anyone from attending, but even amongst extreme cults that type of thing is rare.

That was me as a Protestant, but while I agree that the Protestant faith is not what the Catholic faith is, we must remember that we are Brothers and Sisters to most Protestants in that we do share Sacramental Baptism with them.

There are many very good, holy Protestants, and our faith does not believe that they are wrong, just incomplete.

I am thankfull that my parents took me to Chruch as a kid, even though it was a Protestant one, it laid the ground work for my new Catholic Faith.

Peace and God Bless!

Better to go to the Protestant Church than not to go in any church.😊

Heard this from somewhere…

Better to be a good Protestant then a bad Catholic.
