Is homosexuality forgiveable?

I guess I’m just looking for clarification on this topic before I have a conversation with someone. Is homosexuality and homosexual acts a sin that will be forgiven if someone goes to confession and repents?

Yes. All is forgivable except rejection of forgiveness itself. Homosexual attraction isn’t a sin, but is a blemish and disorder in a person. Homosexual sex is a sin, and is not always related to the disordered inclination.

Homosexuality (attraction to ones own sex) isn’t a sin, and therefore outside of concepts like forgiveness.

Sexual activity outside of marriage is a sin, and can be repented of (in other words, a firm desire to change course), and forgiven

In the discussion, it helps to highlight the point that Christians are called to love our neighbour. If it happens that our neighbour is 2 men married to each other, you would be a good neighbour to them. You would be kind to them. Non-Christians seem to think that ‘you must hate them’. No. They are made in the image and likeness of God, as all of us are, from conception, which is why we never support abortion. Should we go around saying pro-abortion people are baby-phobes? That’s another argument but not really. The dignity of the human person is given by God.

ALL sins are forgivable if someone sincerely repents and goes to Confession.

Honestly, this is because over the past 5 decades, MANY (if not most) Christians have become very leant with heterosexual mortal sins:

• fornication
• masturbation
• co-habitation
• divorce
• and even adultery

If we don’t show equal outrage with heterosexual sins, it’s hard for people to see the difference.

To many people, sin is sin. Few people today understand why homosexuals sins are more immoral than heterosexual sins.

However, they do have a point - if we are accepting of heterosexual sexual sins, then it does make us hypocritical.

Your argument needs to be focused on ALL SEXUAL SIN is bad. Homosexual Acts can send one to hell just like adulterous relationships, masturbation, fornication, porn, etc. We need to show equal outrage to ALL these sins becoming normalized, not just homosexual sins.
