I’m confused, everyone is saying immodesty is a mortal sin, but it does not say that it is in the CCC. Is it in another church document or something?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Not optional, it’s required for purity. And sins against purity are grave." 2521 Purity requires modesty , an integral part of temperance. Modesty protects the intimate center of the person. It means refusing to unveil what should remain hidden. It is ordered to chastity to whose sensitivity it bears witness. It guides how one looks at others and behaves toward them in conformity with the dignity of persons and their solidarity."
Mention scrupulosity and the thread is usually dead.I’m sorry, I’m just trying to keep things lighthearted
Also, what qualifies as “immodesty”? If I wear my skinny jeans, is that immodest? I’m a dancer, and sometimes the costumes have short skirts. If I wear my leggings to dance, is that immodest?
I struggle with scrupulousity and sometimes I overthink things too
Well, there are two aspects:I know, do you have any advice? (I can’t really talk to a priest or anyone right now bc of coronavirus)
This is like saying stupidity is a mortal sin. It doesn’t make any sense. It’s like looking at a red car and concluding that red is a car. Whoever is saying immodesty is a mortal sin, or any kind of sin at all, doesn’t know what they are talking about.everyone is saying immodesty is a mortal sin,
