The problem is you are misinterpreting that. As the other poster said, modern-day Israel is not what the Bible refers to (if you are a Christian). Just because it has the same name, does not make it so. It’s all about typology.

To Christians, the Bride or Virgin alluded to at the time was Israel. Israel is a type of the Church. The Church, if you are a Christian, supercedes the Israeli people.

In scripture, this always means Israel- she is the one who God found, as in the parable, as a filthy infant in a field and raised her up to glory, but she rebelled against Him and became a whore.

The point of the book of Joel is to get the bride, Israel, to stop whoring around and repent, to go back to the one who lover her in her youth.

Jesus Christ called himself the bride-groom, and he was basically saying he was God. That’s why people got mad at him. I’m suprised some biblical scholars cannot see this. Revelation ends as the marriage of Christ and his Bride, as the union of God and Man (“God dwells with Man!”).

Who is Christ going to “marry” (allegorically speaking)?

The Israeli state?
So is this how you use Grace as an excuse to cast away the Jews and the Promised Land?

Scripture is replete with information on how the remnant of Israel will survive all the way up to Jesus’ appearance here on Earth in all his Glory, e.i., the 2nd coming.

Isaiah 1:9
Unless the LORD Almighty
had left us some survivors,
we would have become like Sodom,
we would have been like Gomorrah.

Israelites have been scattered all over the world and may not even know who they are.

And about Jews which aren’t necessarily Israelites…

Romans 2:28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:

Romans 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

This is why so many Christians are deceived, they never pick up a Bible, they are just spoonfed their knowledge from their churches and the media, blind leading the blind.

Israel is a secular state and has nothing to do with the Bible. Christianity replaced Judaism, the Jews are still important to God because of the promise he made to David but they are NOT spearheading anything, what on earth is up with this protestant obsession with “Israel”???

Don’t you guys know anything? Don’t you know it was founded by secularists who were looking for a new basis for “Hebrew” identity apart from Jewish religion? Look up Theodore Herzl’s writings.

This is sheer historical ignorance.
Sheer biblical and historical ignorance.

God said in Ezekiel that he will bring Israel out of all nations back into the land, and the land will prosper. It the land certainly has done this.

If you want to stick to the historical way the Jews en masse came back into the land for proof that it was not a act of God, so be it. But look at how the land flourished by their hands. Mark Twian wrote about a visit he had to Jerusalem, and his description of the sights were not very savory. The Israelis can farm with salt water and sand, I don’t know they do it, but it is amazing. They ship and supply flowers to Holland, etc.

If you want to look at how secular they are to prove these are not the Israelis to come out of all lands, back into their land, well, this is too bad for you. God says he will bring them out of all nations, where they profaned his Holy Name. This shows that they will be in disbelief, so they will enter into the land in disbelief. The survivors of the tribulation will have their hard hearts broken and finally will call out on the name of the Lord. Jesus will appear again before Israel, and they will believe. But to get to that point, there will be some in disbelief.

So I dont’t get why you and many others see the seculararity of Israel a big surprise or hard-core proof that these are not the Israelis God was going to bring back into the land.

These Jews speak the same language, pray the same prayers, celebrate the same feasts, etc. as their ancestors that were kicked off their land 2000 years ago.

And guess what, before anyone calls them “special”, God says he is doing all of this for them for HIS holy namesake, not because Israel deserved it.

We the Church should not be jealous over this, but should help and aid unbelieving Israel and the world that they(Israel) are back into the land(and still coming) because of God, and he will be sending his son, Jesus back to rescue the remnant of Israel and judge the nations for what how they treated Israel.

All glory and praise goes to God!

An Israeli who doesn’t know that they are an Israeli? Well if they don’t know, one day they might find out.

And who are you calling decieved? Don’t you quote from the Koran also?

A Jew is considered by Jews to be born of a Jewish mother or converted to Judaism and can be of any race. Nearly all today reject Jesus as Messiah.

An Israelite descends from one of the Twelve Tribes of Israel and can be of any religion.

An Israeli lives in modern Israel and may be of any race or religion. The Israeli government defines being Jewish as not allowing belief in Jesus.

Therefore the Israel of God that is only restored by Messiah and loves Jesus does not exist today. I support that one.

A secular Israel against Jesus exists today. I don’t support that one.

For your answer Christ is married to His Church.

2nd Christ stated He did not come to replace the old law but to make a new covenant.

3rd you cannot deny the prophesy of the prophet for one Daniel.

I will give you a hint 1335 for the Jews to return well deciphers the years and days that brings you up to the year and date exactly Dec. 19, 1917

The day the mayor of Jerusalem handed over the keys to the city to the British and not a shot was fired.

There are many many Prophetsies that have been fulfilled but one since then still waiting and thats the Temple restored.

To say the Jews are not Israelites is like trying to say that a heathen converting to Christianity is not a Christian.

As far as Revelation I do not get to tied up in it as it is out of my control. I try to make sure I am ready for my own Revelation. When I will see Jesus when I retire from this body.

WOW!
I commend you for such a well thought out view on Israel!

Very scriptural viewpoint indeed!
Thank you. I have a great respect for the Jewish people as they are the Chosen. Weather they Choose God or not is a personal choice each must make, as a whole they are still the heirs to the Promise made to Abraham, Mose, and all the ancient patriarchs. I do believe that as a person that each Jewish person needs to recognize Christ, But that is a separate issue from the place that in which Israel holds.

As was posted above the population of Israel maybe 50/50 as far as religious belief and also that not every one that is an Israeli is Jewish,
I don’t see were any of that removes its role in Gods plan. I know that God does not need for a person to believe in him to use him to work his will. We have many examples in scripture showing the unbeliever being used. Nor do I find in scripture any where that states that when The people are brought back out of the world and home to the promise land that the there government will be a theocracy. I read the signs as given to use and I look to the sky in hope and awe for the return of my Lord Jesus the Christ Son of God. One of the Signs is a return of the Jewish to the Promise land. On on watch for he comes as a thief in the night. I don’t know that this is the time to be on guard or if Israel as it stand today is the sign the scripture for tells. But I will stand with Gods
people and i will be on guard.

It’s not backwards at all, Israel has been restored but not by Jesus, even though prophecy says Messiah will restore Israel. So what does that tell you?

Matthew 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Matthew 24:25 Behold, I have told you before.
lol, at first i thought you were a fundamentalist which is why i responded the way i did to the first post. now that i know you are jewish…

the Messiah is supposed to restore israel, correct. israel either: has been restored by the Messiah… the United Nations, or has not truly been restored. i would have to say the second considering the fact that all of israel does not belong to the jews and they are either going to have to give up ground or continue to act extremely inhumanely to the palestinians who have been force into refugee camps (that eerily resemble the ghettos or even the prison camps the babylonians placed many jews in). the jews were charged with and continue to be charged with showing God (and His loving nature) to the world. the behavior of israel is not showing it.

First of all let me say that Israel is just defending herself from the Palestinians who send rockets into Israel daily, not to mention suicide bombings, just Monday I believe a young boy had to have his leg amputated because of this. Let me also say that the church does not replace Israel because God’s calling is not revocable. God said that he would punish the nations that divide his land. You might also remember that about a week or so after Israel turned Gaza over to the palestinians, at the insistence of our president, making many people in Israel leave their homes, we had a hurricane cause many people to be homeless here in our country. Coincidence, I think maybe not! Why doesn’t Egypt or Jordan take them in? Could it be that they are violent people. The only way they would be happy is if Israel no longer exsisted. I am not Jewish but I LOVE Israel and the Jewish people and I pray for the peace of Jerusalem. I also love the Arab people because they are the decendants of Abraham but Palistinians are not entitled to any land in Israel the other Arab countries need to take them in.
