Seems like common courtesy they would. I used to pick up the dog poop for my husband and it was so foul, I offered it up as a prayer for the souls in Purgatory. I never knew if that helped them but there were times when I was struggling and I knew someone had to be praying for me. Maybe yes, maybe no, but don’t pray for the Suffering Souls to get something from them. Do it to show you love them. You never know who you may be helping! Could be someone famous and it could be an ancestor!
