Is it a mortal sin to buy pirated DVD films?

Assuming that the other required circumstances are present, is it a serious enough sin to buy pirated DVD films to be considered mortal?

Assuming it is, is it a mortal sin of omission to not inform a close relative (i.e. a parent) that purchasing such pirated DVD films is a mortal sin?
