Is it a mortal sin to miss Mass to go pick someone up?

Is it a sin if I missed Mass, because I had to pick some one up, and was not aware of it until a few minutes before I had to leave to pick them up. Which meant by the time I got back home, did not have time to get ready to attend Mass. The parish has it’s last Mass at 10:30 am and that was the one I planned on attending. I was visiting someone, not at my home parish.
