As both Obama and McCain favor abortion and it is a sin of omission not to vote what should Catholics do?

Have all Democrats excommunicated themselves?

Is th Catholic Church in its support for McCain putting at risk its charitable status?

Should Prof Kmiec and all who support Democrats be refused Communion?

Should all Democratic politicians be publicly excommunicated?.

Have Catholics effectively been removed from political life, since they are not free to vote, except as in Stalin’s Russia for one Candidate?

Is Bishop Murphy disingenuous by suggesting Catholics should consider the social teaching of the Church before voting, since they are not free to make up their minds.

Is the Catholic Church stupid for driving committed Democrats out of the Church?

God bless,

NoelFitz.

“When a Catholic does not share a candidate’s stand in favor of abortion and/or euthanasia but votes for that candidate for other reasons, it is considered remote material cooperation, which can be permitted in the presence of proportionate reasons” Cardinal Ratzinger/Pope Benedict XVI.

The Catholic church is not supporting McCain.
The Catholic church is against abortion, but the Democratic party is well known as the party that promotes abortion on demand, prouldy.

Thank you for your courteous and concise reply to me.

McCain would also allow allow abortion. Voting g McCain seems to imply a little bit of abortion is OK. In the last few years has Roe vs Wade been overturned? Is abortion, under a Republican president, disappearing?

Please note:

Voting itself is not an evil act. And clearly, if you support the evil act when you vote, then all bets are off. But what if you are conscientiously opposed to abortion, when can you vote for a pro-abortion politician? Well, you would need to ask a number of questions. First, how much power will the politician have to affect the evil act? Second, would he or she be effective in bringing about the policy? Third, if the policy is enacted, would it be effective in achieving its ends? And after this, the relative gravity of the good and evil effects must be considered. Nothing here is certain, and the person must act in the realm of probability, which of course allows for prudential judgment.
