My husband and I practice NFP. We had sex twice yesterday (this usually never happens, but we hadn’t had sex in a long time because we are currently staying at a relative’s house which doesn’t really allow privacy). Well anyway, the second time we had sex, my husband didn’t finish. Is this a sin?

If the male doesn’t finish? Yes, it’s non potentially procreational sex (I know you mentioned NFP being used but that never really seems to be taken into account).
If the female doesn’t? No.

Due to the very personal nature of the question, perhaps it would be better to ask your priest. While I understand the previous posters comment from your catholic perspectives, from my limited understanding, I would imagine its a bit more complex than simply yes or no.

Why didn’t he ejaculate? Did he intentionally draw out or just physically couldn’t?
How close were the two times?
Not all men can ejaculate and then perform again depending on age etc and other physical things?

(Please don’t actually answer these questions, I’m just giving you something to think about)

I’m not sure if the above will effect it being a sin from a catholic perspective or not which brings me back to my first thought…speak to your priest.

It’s not a sin not to finish.

It is a sin to begin with the intention not to finish.

As they are practicing NFP, it is unlikely that they are engaging in relations with the INTENT to not finish…so then there would be no sin. It isn’t always physically, emotionally, or mentally possible for a man to finish.

Thank y’all for responding. We did not initiate with the intent of not finishing. That is always the intent. Hope y’all have a great weekend.

It is impossible to sin without intent. Sin is intentionally disobeying God or His Church. 🙂

If it is a physiological non-finishing with your intention of finishing (you and him), that is not an immoral act. No moral issue. The problematic is not moral.

Practice the conjugal act, get conjugal sexual pleasures, reach conjugal sexual orgasms, enjoy and avoid the scrupules.

The conjugal scrupulism, the conjugal jansenism and the conjugal puritanism are too much powerful. STOP STOP STOP STOP

Per se, a couple has the right to practice the marital act, many times in the short time: no moral issue, per se. You have this right, this obligation and this duty. Be happy in your couple and in your conjugal sexual unions. IT IS NOT A SIN

Thank you for your response.😊
What is conjugal scrupilism, Jansenism and Puritanism?

What is conjugal scrupilism, Jansenism and Puritanism?

The conjugal scrupulim (a neologism)is the fact of having many scrupulous concerning the question of the marital act. The fact of seeing the conjugal carnal sins everywhere and everytime is crazy, morally speaking. The scrupulous mentality of catholic couples is dangerous.

The conjugal puritanism is a puritanism in link with the marriage. It is a heresy coming from the protestantism. The fear of the flesh, of the body, of the incarnation, of conjugal sexual pleasures and of conjugal sexual orgasms.

The conjugal jansenism is a jansenism in link with the marriage. It is a heresy coming from France.

Those are christian heresies focusing on the duality between the materiality and the immateriality, in the wrong way, what means the struggle between the body and the soul.

I would agree that this is all that is needed to know about this specific issue. Any other information, while interesting(!), is neither important nor pertinent.

Given you had sex to completion the first time, I can not imagine you set out to have incomplete sex the second time. So presumably he was reasonably unable to finish the second time? That’s a non issue and certainly not sinful.

The dry natural ejaculation ( a natural anejaculation) is not a male impotence. Thus, the man is called potent. It is not a moral issue, per se. In this situation, the husband has natural right of practicing the marital act with his wife. And the wife has natural right of practicing the marital act with her husband

The natural retrograde ejaculation is not a male impotence. Thus, the man is called potent. It is not a moral issue, per se. In this situation, the husband has natural right of practicing the marital act with his wife. And the wife has natural right of practicing the marital act with her husband.

A husband without prostate, after medical surgery, for medical just reasons, is not called impotent. It is not a moral issue, per se. In this situation, the husband has natural right of practicing the marital act with his wife. And the wife has natural right of practicing the marital act with her husband.

The male impotence is not the male sterility and / or is not the male infertility. The same reasoning for the female.

The husband touched by the sterility and / or the infertility has the right of practicing the marital act with his wife. The same for her. Indeed, a wife without uterus, after medical hysterectomy, a wife without ovary, after medical surgery, and a wife without fallopian tube, after medical surgery can practice, morally speaking, the marital act with her husband.

In those situations, the material morality of the marital act is not touched.

With God looking over your shoulder it is a wonder anyone finishes ever. God doesn’t want your love making to be a tick box exercise in not sinning. I think we can get over complicated about a very natural component of a loving relationship. I would pray to the good Lord for stamina so that this issue never again needs to go on the report you must obviously prepare for the Lord after every sanctioned intimacy. No wonder us Catholics are not having large families anymore, the paperwork is just too hard.

any healthy male who can start and not finish intentionally, has a gift i would like to have.👍
