Is it a sin to be introverted?

I am very shy in around others, and I really only speak up if spoken to. I also feel insecure in “crowds”. I think that others may judge me. I think this is a trait I developed when I was a lot younger.

On the other hand, I do have a desire to serve others in community service.

My question is: does my introvertedness prevent me from truly serving God? I read that St. Therese of Lisieux was also introverted.

Being introverted is certainly no sin. Many inroverted people lose their shyness when they are involced in serving others. I suggest that you get involved with helping others and you will be less inclined to think about fears.
