I teach 8th grade Religious Ed. and one of my students asked if it was a sin to ‘change religions’. What she meant was changing from being a Catholic to, say, being a Baptist (which I think is where she is leaning because of the heavily influential Baptist church in our town). I told her I didn’t know if there was a definite ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer to that, but that in my opinion, it would be a sin to stop practicing Catholicism since we have the fullness of truth. I would like to give her a solid answer. Can you help?
