I ask this because I’m going to a county fair tomorrow and they seem to be a hotbed for fundamentalist and muslim evangelizers. I’m a bit scrupulous and worry about the state of my soul.
I’m not very educated, but I don’t see why it would be. I mean, just because you’ve committed mortal sins doesn’t mean that God forbids you from trying to do good things, right? I simply can’t imagine spreading the truth to be a sin.
Oh and if you’re worried about the state of your soul, go to Confession.
I don’t think a mortal sin bars you from evangelizing. However, I suspect it will seriously diminish the effect of your efforts. Mortal sin damages your link to God, and ones evangelizing depends heavily on inspiration from the Spirit.
Try your best to make an Act of Perfect Contrition and pray hard for guidance.
