This! Be respectful, but this is very different from him being married. So different! You have to put on all the brakes for a married man. A guy that is just dating is different. I know many great couples that met while one or both already had a boyfriend or girlfriend. You can be friends, and just be prudent when it comes to anything else. Things could change for him and his girlfriend, he could realize they wouldn’t make a good couple for marriage. There is nothing wrong with getting to know him and spending time with him at work. This is very different from putting yourself or him in the situation where he would be dishonest to his girlfriend, or “cheat” on her rather than deciding he wants to part ways to get to know other people.People in relationships aren’t married to each other. Strictly speaking, they are not off limits. You are correct in not wanting to destabilize and bring chaos into their existing relationships for no good reason, but also, ultimately, those folks aren’t married to each other and are still free to make different choices.
So, I’d say, respect the relationship they already have together, whatever they have built and invested in, or their happiness together, don’t jeopardize it lightly, but at the same time don’t regard them the same as married, which they are not.
