Is it a sin to have imaginary friends?

I am a huge anime and manga fan and I like to pretend they r my friends. Is it a sin to have imaginary friends?
 
It isn’t a sin to role-play privately or use your imagination, no. That doesn’t give you carte blanche to ignore, neglect or mistreat real people or real duties, but I’m not assuming that is implied in the practice.
 
Why don’t you ask them? 😃 sorry, I had to do something. In all seriousness itsnt a sin unless it causes you to avoid people and responsibility.
 
Of course not. As long as you do not delve into the belief they are actually real, and above actual, living people, you aren’t doing anything harmful.

Your thought provoking question gets a “no” (at least - not necessarily - since an evil imaginary friend might soon be fed lines by our evil not-so-imaginary spiritual enemy).

I did flash upon “Captain Howdy” who began to talk to the little girl (Regan) in the movie the Exorcist when she was playing alone with the Oidja board. In that case the imaginary friend was an actual demon! :eek:

But many authors and screenplay writers create imaginary or fictional characters, good and bad, and have enriched our lives. Some have inspired us and led us closer to Christ and the things that are right.

So you probably could answer this yourself by examining the fruits of what happens to you
when you do this.

It MIGHT be an improvement to develop a deeper relationship with a patron saint or better yet Jesus. But that is always the case and not your question directly.

May your next imaginary friend be a full of Christ friend that inspires you to tremendous heights, comforts you with His love, or is a little like the role model you’ve been looking for all your life! 🙂
 
Three of my imaginary friends say yes and only one says no. But the one who says no is a bishop, so I’m going with no.

Good move! The first three weren’t talking about themselves but the others. 😉

In the future give equal scrutiny to imaginary Bishops too. :cool:👍
