Nothing wrong with a married couple refraining from sexual relations by mutual consent. (See 1 Corinthians 7:5) Such a marriage would still be valid, though I think the marriage has to be consummated to be considered sacramental.
I was right about unconsummated Christian marriages being valid but wrong about them not being considered sarcramental. Sorry. Unconsummated Christian marriages are both valid and sacramental. See Jimmy Akin on Mary’s Marriage.

It is true that Mary & Joseph were married before Jesus established the Catholic Church. If a person were to marry in the Catholic Church. Their marriage would be considered valid unless proven otherwise. Indeed the priest is a witness to the marriage. It would take an in depth request/application and a marriage tribunel several years of investigation, and many testimonies, before they would ever declare a marriage invalid.

I would consider both Mary & Jesus to be Jewish/Isreal and Catholic. Jesus instituted the Royal Priesthood, the sacraments, confession, baptism, the Eucharist…The Catholic Church is the continuation and fulfillment of God’s Chosen People oh Isreal.🙂
