Is it a sin to miss mass due to not having enough staff to help on the weekends and also having vertigo that hasn’t stopped? Is it a mortal sin?

God knows and maybe the one who did it knows. Sounds like something to speak with Confessor about.

Some people can make it, some can’t. Some vertigo is a lot worse than others.

I’ve had this before and this time we don’t know what is causing it. Vertigo started last Sunday

Vertigo is a medical condition that can render a person, both a danger to themselves and a danger to others. I would not want to know that the driver in the Church parking lot coming toward me is afflicted with vertigo. I know in my parish, our pastor and asst. pastor both will tell you that missing mass because you have a condition that might harm others is ok. It is your call.
Good luck

If you are unable to get there because you can’t drive, or if you’re going to go to church and feel sick or perhaps fall, there’s no reason it would be a sin when you’re only concerned for your own safety and the safety of those around you. You could knock an elderly woman out, or send Hosts flying, and perhaps knock yourself out entirely.

God knows your heart.
