Is it a sin to read some things but because you were concerned for someone?

I am a male. And I know that I should respect women and I do. Now one time I was thinking about some things like birth control and how its wrong because I saw this commercial about a birth control pill. Then I saw a tampon commercial (wow they’re on like every channel, even the “kid friendly” channels) and I thought if using those was a sin. It was only because I know my sister and mom use them (I’ve unloaded them from the car after we get groceries) but I don’t really take any note of it and don’t say anything about them. It’s just that concern that both my sister and my mom would be in sin a lot and I just wanted to know if they were fine. I wasn’t looking at how to use them or any other stuff that involves only what women have that guys don’t, I just wanted a frank answer saying “yes, it is” or “no, it’s not”. I stayed away from non-catholic or non-christian stuff and was just looking for the answer. However, I did run into some “extra info” while searching. I already learned about that stuff in my 7th grade biology class on the reproductive system, and i just skimmed through it to only find the answer. I ended up getting the answer (from these forums), but i dont know. I know that when you read/look at/listen to anything like that out of enjoyment or weird perverted pleasure then its a sin, but would it be in my case since i was researching it because of the concern of my sister and mother???
btw i would NEVER read that stuff for any other reason (like i said i tried to avoid the other “extra info” and only was looking for yes or no, but some answers came with both)!!!
I only did do it because i was concerned my mom and sister were in sin (but my sister is already in sin because she has sometimes missed church for work or pointless reasons, my mom and i have tried to tell her, but she wont listen)

Tampons are not used as a form of birth control. They are not used for sexual pleasure, nor are they barred or wrong to use. They are used during the point in a womens menstral cycle for the same purpose as sanitary napkins, sometimes in combination with them.

Women are sometimes a bit confusing for men, and boys. There are things that men shy away from asking, that they should not, like tampons, and other things that they should shy away from. If you are not comfortable asking your mother about such things, you may wish to approach your Science teacher. The reproductive system of men and women were created by God, and the proper use of them within marriage is not sinful. Learning about the proper use of them prior to marriage (through reading good scientific books, or in classroom, or from your parents) may be embarrasing at times, but is not sinful.

Okay thanks, but I kinda knew that already.
I researched on the internet if it was sinful to use them, i didnt ask how they were used ect ect ect. i just wanted to know if it was sinful for my mothers and sisters sake and had no desire what so ever with finding out “extra info” about it. its just that some websites had the “extra” and didnt want to use them just wanted to find out if using them was sinful for my moms and sisters sake so i can help them.
so i guess i half get your answer, but would it be a sin if i read through some things about that but was only looking for if it was a sin???(btw the websites i found contained about the same information that filioque provided me with, maybe a little more, and all respected the idea, just as i do and i would never cause any sort of disrespect towards women, i just wanted to know if it was a sin and not read anything extra about it!! I probably should have searched “the church’s view on the use of tampons” but i wasnt thinking straight cuz i was worried about my sister and mom. Like i said my intentions were not to be innopropriate and take enjoyment out of it, i just wanted to know “yes or no” and nothing extra at all!!)

It was hard to see through your original posting. However from the second posting, the answer would be no. It was not sinful. You had natural questions, and wanted to know if there was a moral objection to the use of tampons. You state you did not do the research with the intention of finding anything immoral, or tittilating, so No you did not commit a sin. (which is also no, it is not immoral for women to use tampons.)

OH THANK YOU!!!
i keep debating with myself wether it is or not despite my intentions.
but then again thats always what i seem to do with every single decision i ever make and its annoying, but my mom said thats in the family history-always worrying about everything.
thank you filioque for your answer its much appreciated!!!
like i said (a lot) i would NEVER want to read those kinds of things only for women just for enjoyment, i would only do it if it was to look at moral decisions.
THANKS AGAIN!!!

Sounds like someone dropped the ball, including whoever taught that seventh grade class. By the time a boy or girl is in 7th grade they should have a reasonably complte knowledge about how their body and their counterparts body functions, but in addition some knowledge of the types of sexual decisions they will have to make and what is and is not morally acceptable.

The problem with the way sexuality is taught in non-parochial schools is that it covers the plumbing and how to turn nit on or off, but it does not cover the nuances of the decision making required to find ones way through the thickets of modern media presentations of human seuality, whether in drama or advertisement. such lack of knowledge leads young people to grow up hooked on pornography and/or masturbation before they even know what the word means.😦

well im not into that kinda stuff and ive never watched pornography, i only researched if it was a sin or not, but some cites had extra info that i didnt want.
i only wanted to see if my sister and mother were in a state of grace, i had no intention what so ever to read anything (name removed by moderator)ure or immoral, i just wanted the “yes or no” and nothing more.

Your mother and sister are responsible for their own souls, and if your sister needs correction, that is your parents’ job. One of the burdens that scrupulous people carry is the notion that they are responsible for the sins of others in some way if they do not warn or correct them. That’s only true if you are in a position of responsibility, and, as a young person, you are not. It’s OK to lay this burden down now.
