Is it a sin to say "Alleluia" during Lent?

I know in Catholic school we were taught not to, and I know it is not said at Mass during Lent, but wasn’t sure if it was considered an actual sin.
 
No, it’s not a sin. During the public liturgies of the Church, the Alleluia is omitted so that it becomes more significant once Easter arrives, but there’s nothing wrong with individuals saying “Alleluia” on their own time.
