Is it acceptable to hold hands during the "Our Father"?

We were recently told that due to the outbreak of the swine flu, this would be a good time to stop the unauthorized practice of holding hands during the “Our Father” Prayer. My family has always held hands. It makes our children focus and participate. My question is : Is this practice looked upon poorly by the church? Should we stop this practice?
