Is it appropriate to go out on the evening of Holy Saturday? Re-visited

Hello,

I am currently in college, and this weekend there are parties going on. After some reflection, I know that I want to be respectful of the solemnity of the occasion and therefore have chosen not to go to any parties on Good Friday. However, I was wondering if it was irreverent to go out on Holy Saturday as well? The party would probably start at about 10:30pm or so, and I plan on going to the Vigil mass before that (as well as Easter Sunday mass the next day).

Thoughts?

Hi,

Thanks to a reader, I have adjusted this answer. If the party is AFTER the vigil, certainly it is appropriate to celebrate! When I first answered this, I assumed that the vigil was after the party.
